Manufacturing Maintenance Technician
Goodwill Engineering – Malaga, WA
Full Time | Workshop-Based Role
Goodwill Engineering, part of Ability WA, is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Maintenance Technician to join our operations team in Malaga.
This is a hands-on workshop-based role suited to someone from a manufacturing, press shop, fitting, machining or plant maintenance background who enjoys problem-solving, improving machinery, and working as part of a supportive team environment.

About the Role
You will help maintain and improve a range of wire and sheet metal processing equipment to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operations across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the safe and reliable operation of plant and production equipment
- Diagnose faults and undertake repairs to machinery and tooling
- Conduct preventative maintenance and regular equipment inspections
- Assist with machinery upgrades and safety improvements
- Modify equipment to support safe and accessible operation for employees with disabilities
- Retool and tune presses and related production equipment
- Liaise with production staff regarding maintenance priorities
- Support and supervise employees with disabilities in a respectful and inclusive manner
- Ensure all work complies with relevant safety procedures and regulations
About You
This role is ideal for someone from a manufacturing, workshop, fabrication, press shop or maintenance background who values teamwork, stability and meaningful work in a community-focused environment.
To be successful, you will have:
- Significant experience in fitting, machining, toolmaking, maintenance or similar trade environments
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience working within manufacturing, workshop or production settings
- High attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- A collaborative and supportive approach to working with others
- Empathy and willingness to work alongside employees with disabilities
Desirable
- Forklift license
- Experience with presses, fabrication equipment or bespoke machinery

Mandatory Requirements
- Full Australian Working Rights
- Current “C” Class Driver’s License
- National Police Clearance (within 6 months)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module (or willingness to obtain)
- Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
