About the Position
The Practice Lead is a new role at Ability WA. As a Practice Lead you will play an important role in a Home & Living location. You’ll work hands-on alongside a team of support workers, modelling best practice, coaching your peers, and making sure the people we support are living meaningful, safe and self-directed lives.
One Practice Lead will be allocated per home and will provide support to customers, mentor support workers and assist the Coordinator.
Here’s what the role looks like day to day:
- 60-80% on the floor – providing direct personal support in line with the customer support plans, including personal care, daily living tasks and community activities
- 20-40% off the floor – time set aside to complete house administration, embed Ability WA initiatives and act as the first point of contact for customers and families
- Embed Practice Leadership and active supports
Please note: this role does not carry formal supervisory, performance management, or decision-making authority – escalation sits with the Community Services Coordinator
