Are you a Registered Nurse looking for flexible casual shifts within a supportive facility‑based team? Ability WA is seeking experienced and passionate RNs to provide high‑quality clinical care to people living with disability. This role is ideal for nurses who value autonomy, teamwork, and person‑centred practice.
We are recruiting Casual Registered Nurses for a variety of shifts, including morning, afternoon, evening and night duty, based on service requirements and your availability.
About the Role
As a Registered Nurse, you will deliver safe, effective and person‑centred clinical care in line with professional standards, clinical governance frameworks, legislation, and Ability WA policies. You will also mentor Enrolled Nurses and support workers to ensure high‑quality care across all service settings.
This casual role requires flexibility, strong clinical judgement, excellent documentation skills, and the ability to support customers in a way that minimises disruption to their daily routines.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver hands‑on nursing care including catheter care, PEG management, wound care, medication administration, and other clinical tasks
- Complete and review care plans, risk assessments, and documentation as delegated by the Clinical Nursing Team
- Provide training and clinical guidance to support workers and other staff
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in line with NDIS and organisational requirements
- Work within scope of practice and escalate clinical concerns appropriately
- Opportunity to act up and develop leadership capability
About You – Skills & Attributes
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Strong clinical knowledge, assessment skills, and attention to detail
- Confident working with complex health needs, equipment, and disability‑related support
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team
- A collaborative, coaching mindset aligned with Ability WA’s values and mission
Essential Requirements
- Current AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willing to obtain)
- Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- National Police Clearance (issued within the last 6 months)
- Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011 minimum)
- Current Driver’s Licence
- Full Australian Working Rights
