About the Position:

Join our Goodwill Engineering Operations Team in Malaga.

This is not your average Mechanical Fitter role! Goodwill Engineering is both a WA manufacturer of building hardware to the construction industry and a long-term employer of people with disability in WA. We are looking to recruit a Mechanical Fitter to support the Goodwill business in maintaining its plant and equipment effectively to ensure a smooth manufacturing process and reduce any interruptions to daily supply orders. • Successful candidates will need to undergo a pre-employment medical inclusive of drug and alcohol screening.

• This role does not require any direct support work to our employees with disability; however successful candidates will positively work alongside our employees with disability in a peer/colleague capacity.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance on machinery and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and undertake repairs to bespoke equipment, including fabrication of required metal components.
  • Report and schedule required repairs and assist with production-related needs.
  • Upgrade machinery for improved safety and performance.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant procedures and regulations.
  • Re-tool and tune presses and production tooling and equipment.
  • Maintain and ensure continual and safe operation of our wire and sheet metal processing plant and equipment.
  • Help modify machinery for safe use for employees with disabilities.

About You:

  • Full Australian Working Rights.
  • Significant experience in fitting, machining or tool making.
  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of mechanical systems and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail while completing tasks.
  • Valid Forklift licence (highly desirable).
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Work autonomously in the Maintenance Technician role while demonstrating strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills when liaising with Goodwill staff.
  • Show empathy and possess willingness to work alongside employees with disabilities.

 

Requirements:

  • National Police Clearance (within the last 6 months).
  • Full Australian Working Rights.
  • Valid 'C' class Driver's Licence.
  • NDIS Workers Screening Clearance (or willing to obtain).
  • NDIS Workers Orientation Module (or willing to obtain).
  • COVID-19 Vaccination certificate.
