As a Community Support Worker with Ability WA, you’ll empower people with disabilities to live life to the fullest. You’ll support customers to build independence, connect with their community, and work toward their goals. What You’ll Do 💼

  • Provide person-centred support and assist customers to engage in community activities such as coffee catch-ups, shopping, classes, movies, and appointments.
  • Encourage independence and social connection.
  • Support daily living tasks including personal care, meal planning, hydrotherapy, and light domestic duties.
  • Drive wheelchair-accessible vans (training provided) and your own vehicle to support customers in achieving their NDIS goals.
  • Keep accurate progress notes to ensure high-quality care.

About You 🙌

  • Experience with mental health, challenging behaviours, and de‑escalation techniques.
  • Comfortable providing personal care to both male and female customers, and confident attending hydrotherapy sessions.
  • Able to work independently with customers — a high level of autonomy, reliability, and confidence is essential.
  • Passionate about helping people participate and thrive in their community.
  • Adaptable communicator with a strong person-centred approach.
  • Minimum 6 Months experience in a caring role in the Disability sector.
  • Willing to drive wheelchair-accessible vans.
  • Transport Customers in your own vehicle.
  • Certificate III or IV in a relevant discipline is highly regarded.
  • Hold or be willing to obtain required clearances (National Police Clearance, NDIS Worker Screening, First Aid, Driver's Licence).
  • Possess Comprehensive Car Insurance.

Availability Requirements

To support your flexibility and help grow your hours, we require availability across at least three weekdays, with full-day availability between 8:00am and 6:00pm. This enables consistent customer scheduling and additional hours as they become available.
